Motivation is easier achieved through extrinsic motivation. Plus, even if you aren’t interested in the stuff you are to do, you can still have the inclination to do it for the external reward.

Compared when they are used separately, a combination of extrinsic motivation and intrinsic motivation would increase motivation while masking the individual cons and highlighting the pros of each type of motivator.

The most ideal way to motivate employees would have to be to use both extrinsic motivation and intrinsic motivation.

Extrinsic motivation when used without intrinsic motivation is not long lasting. Furthermore, when the reward is taken away, you take away the action as well.
